Our WellSaid review

Our verdict

WellSaid is a polished choice for business narration. Its voices are built from licensed recordings of voice actors, the output is consistent, and it gives you fine control over pace, pitch and pronunciation. It suits training, e-learning and marketing teams who want clear licensing. It is English-focused and its download caps are tight, so it isn’t a general-purpose tool.

Our 4.2 out of 5 score is an editorial judgment based on features, pricing and user feedback. It loses points for the English-only self-serve plans and limited emotional range.

What it does

You paste a script and shape the delivery with controls for pace, pitch and loudness, and you can fix pronunciation by adding respelled replacements. Generation is unlimited, but downloads are capped by plan. WellSaid integrates with Adobe tools and offers a developer API through its Enterprise sales.

What users say

G2 reviewers highlight ease of use, natural-sounding voices and responsive support, and say it saves them from recording voiceovers themselves. Reviewers also note that it handles emotional performance less well than some rivals and that the controls take some learning.

Pricing

Sources disagree on the free option. Recent listings describe a free plan with about 3 download minutes a month and no commercial rights, while others describe a 7-day trial with no downloads, so check what’s offered when you sign up. Starter is listed at $19 a month, or $10 a month billed annually, with about 20 download minutes a month, all English voices and full commercial rights. Pro is $49 a month, or $33 billed annually, for about 180 minutes. Business is $160 a month per user. Pricing pages and sources differ, so confirm before you pay.

Languages

Self-serve plans cover English voices only. Other languages are an Enterprise option, so it isn’t suitable if you need Hindi or other Indian languages on a normal plan.

Where it falls short

English only, capped downloads, no self-serve cloning and limited emotion.
