Our Murf review
Our verdict
Murf is one of the easiest voiceover studios to learn. You write or paste a script, choose a voice, adjust emphasis and pacing, and sync it to video or slides in a built-in timeline. That makes it a good fit for educators, marketers and e-learning teams. The main criticisms are the usage caps, auto-renewal billing complaints and voices that can sound flat outside English.
Our 4.2 out of 5 score is an editorial judgment based on features, pricing and user feedback. It loses points for caps and for non-English voice quality.
What it does
Murf offers 200+ voices in 30+ languages and accents, controls for emphasis, pitch, speed, pauses and pronunciation, and a timeline where you can add video and music and invite teammates to comment. It integrates with Canva and PowerPoint, and Murf also offers dubbing and a developer API.
What users say
G2 reviewers rate it highly overall, often describing it as beginner-friendly yet powerful, and many praise how quickly they can produce voiceovers. Complaints cluster around pricing and limits. Reviewers say monthly allowances are small for the price, that unused minutes vanish and that some voices sound robotic or flat for emotional scripts. Trustpilot has a number of reviews about auto-renewal charges and difficulty cancelling. One review also reports pronunciation problems in Hindi, so test any non-English language first.
Pricing
The Free plan gives 10 minutes of voice generation in total, but no downloads and no commercial rights, so it works as a demo. Creator costs $29 a month, or $19 a month billed annually, with about 2 hours of voice a month and commercial rights. Business costs $99 a month, or $66 billed annually, with about 8 hours and team features. Voice cloning sits on Enterprise. Check the pricing page, because allowances are described in hours per year.
Where it falls short
Caps, no rollover, auto-renewal friction and uneven voice quality.
Who should use it
Choose Murf if you want an easy studio for video and presentation voiceovers. Skip it if you need the most realistic voices or cloning (ElevenLabs) or free commercial use (TTSMaker). See our list of ElevenLabs alternatives.
