Our Curipod review
Our verdict
Curipod is built for lessons where students take part, not just watch. Give it a topic and a grade level and it drafts a lesson with slides and live activities, which students answer on their own devices. It is the best option here if engagement and quick checks for understanding matter most to you, and the free plan is enough to run real lessons.
Our 4.2 out of 5 score is an editorial judgment based on features, pricing and reviewer feedback. It scores lower than the all-in-one tools because it covers a narrower job and needs devices.
What it does
You enter a topic or learning objective and Curipod generates a complete lesson with slides, polls, word clouds, drawing activities and open questions. Students join with a code and respond while you present. You can see answers as they come in, moderate them before they are shown, and use AI feedback on written responses. You can also turn an existing slide deck into an interactive lesson.
What teachers say
Reviewers are generally positive about the live-response experience, with scores in the range of roughly 7.5 to 8.5 out of 10 on review sites, though one rated it lower overall. One comparison found that it goes deeper than Kahoot because of its open responses, drawings and AI feedback, while Kahoot remains better for competitive review games. Several reviewers note that the generated lessons are good rather than great, so expect to edit one or two slides before teaching.
A teacher writing about classroom use raised practical issues. Not every classroom has enough devices, the AI sometimes oversimplifies a concept or adds details that need correcting, and student responses are collected, so you should check your school’s privacy policy. Reviewers also suggest it suits middle and high school better than the youngest grades.
Pricing
There is a free plan with limited AI usage, student engagement tools such as polls, drawings and word clouds, and unlimited student participants. Schools and districts get custom pricing with unlimited AI usage, standards alignment, single sign-on and priority support. Older sources list an individual Premium plan at $7.50 to $9 a month, but current listings show only Free and School and District, so check the pricing page for what is offered now.
Where it falls short
The free plan limits how much AI you can use. Interactivity needs devices, and Wi-Fi has to work. Generated slides can contain errors, so check facts before you teach. It is also more specialised than MagicSchool, so you’d still use another tool for rubrics, parent emails and planning documents.
Who should use it
Choose Curipod if you want lively, student-response lessons, especially in middle and high school. Skip it if devices are scarce or you mostly need planning documents (MagicSchool AI). For free structured planning help, see Khanmigo.
